Cannabis Policy Reform

Square Root Group understands the fundamental challenges of reforming state & local cannabis policies under the shadow of a federal Schedule I designation.  Despite wide-spread bipartisan passage of permissive medical and adult-use cannabis laws, many of the policies governing the cannabis industry fail to effectively serve and benefit governments, cannabis businesses, communities, patients or consumers.  As a result, we have a dire need for policy reform that is productive, impactful and multilaterally beneficial.

Square Root Group is actively engaged in tracking & coordinating functional policy reforms with state and local governments across the country and providing training to optimize policy performance to governments through national and state government associations.   While the broad strokes of reform were successful in establishing legal cannabis access across a super-majority of states, careful edits must now be made (in close coordination with local governments) to realize the true public health & safety and economic benefits of cannabis reform.

Square Root Group is dedicated to making cannabis policy reform work for all stakeholders. Our long history of engagement with federal, state and local lawmakers and regulators, and deep knowledge of the complexity and nuance of building, reforming and implementing cannabis policy, uniquely positions us to deliver solutions that optimize the performance of these reforms.
